Rim backspacing
I was traveling from Chicago on a Sunday and stopped by a Dodge place and saw a dealer installed set of aftermarket 20" rims with a spacer on it. I was wondering what backspacing is on the stock rims. The spacer looked like 3/8" at the most. This way the world of rim choices would be opened.
356MAGNUM,
I think the world of rims is already opened, check www.bigcustomwheels.com and they list 60 or so rims of 18, 20, and 22 for the Magnum. They even have some that fit the AWD, which I have ordered. Strange that TireRack only lists one rim (last I looked) for the RWD and none for the AWD.

AWD is 5x115 and ET 55 is what I have found out. I'm told 5x114.3 is also a direct fitment. The rims I ordered are 18 x 7.5 ET 45 and I will use the stock tire size (but not the stock tire, I will use Pirelli P7s). They will stick out 1 CM further than the stockers do. I will put real winter tires on the original wheels after next winter.
Oops, that is the AWD like mine. The RWD is 5x115 and 10-25 offset. Sorry

can you or someone else explain the 10-25 offset. I understrand how to measure offset but I have only seen a digit like 25 not 10-25. I guess what I am asking is what is the 10?
or the ET 55?
or the ET 55?
Ok, what I know about offset I have learned over the last 2 weeks, so I am by no means an expert. I read that the offset for the RWD stock rims is 24 mm and for AWD 55 mm. It is stamped on the inside of the hub, I have an AWD so have not looked at a RWD wheel. You may want to pull one off to verify. Here is an explanation of offset (offset and ET are the same thing, some wheels are marked with ET, it is German for Einpress Tief, if I'm spelling it right).

The way I understand it, if you go with less positive offset, with all else the same, the rim sticks out further than stock. I'm told 15mm (or a little over a half inch) is an acceptable tolerance, that is why bigcustowheels.com lists an offset range, (that is the 10-25 I posted above).
Here is a link you can go to and play with the offset numbers and it tells you the effect.

Hope this helps.
