Default Tires, I need some advice

Good Morning all! I just purchased a 2007 Magnum SXT, 3.5L V6, rwd. Love the car but ran into one issue. Cruising on the interstate at just below 70mph I ran into a rain storm, not a lot of water on the road but there was some and it hydro-planed like crazy, Had to drop down to 60mph and below. It has 17" Good Year Integrity's installed, I assume they may be factory tires. Lots of tread left but, can anyone suggest another tire that I should be running or is the hydroplane issue something I am stuck with ?

My stock Continentals hydroplaned like crazy. I switched to Goodyear Assurance and after 53,000 miles on the tires they still don't hydroplane and the tires are almost down to the wear bars. I just bought a set of Goodyear Assurance Tripletreds from Tirerack today, so hopefully those are just as good.

Thanks for the advice. No fun having limited control with a Semi Truck behind you, one on your right and a concrete median on the left. Had some serious cheek clenching going on for a few! I will look into the tires you suggested.

Default Kumho - Best tires you never heard of

I have a 2006 SE with 80,000 miles,I bought it new. I threw the Goodyears out after 12,000 miles(warranty was up on them). I have been on Kumhos ever since. I use 225 17 R60. I wen a little low and wider for better handling. Tire Rack has them for cheap, take a look at the Solus KH16 or the Solus KR21. I have used both and have been very happy with them. Just my two cents.
