I'm looking for a muffler that does not sound like it is a aftermarket piece. i want it to sound like it came from the factory. Just a few DB louder.

I haven't heard of anyone taking the resonator(s) off and leaving the stock muffler on. That woul be a good time to put on chrome tip(s) too. Probably change the tone also. Just my .02

I would suggest you try removing the stock "suitcase" muffler, and replace it with some staright tubing...........leave just the stock rear resonators on. You do have the RT, right?

Cheapest way to try something.

Which model do you have? That would make a big difference.

356 Magnum,
The Magnum's come stock with Chrome tips on the exhaust. Both sides. Do you mean replace the stock Chrome Tips with Aftermarket Chrome Tips?

That's exactly what I did. I had a local muffler shop remove the resonators and install 3" Gibson s/s tips on the 2.5" exhaust pipe extensions. Great deep sound, no drone, cool look and I'm out only $200.
