Hello, I'm new to the forum. I have been searching for any info on ball joints for my Magnum. I had a left upper go bad and was told I had to replace both with aftermarket because oem parts were no longer available. I was informed that the aftermarket parts create a wider front track and that's why both had to be replaced. Is there any truth to this? I don't want to dump a long time trusted shop if they are working me over. Thanks for any info.

P.S. I apologize if this has been covered but I can't seem to find it.

 

OEM upper ball joints come with the upper control arm and are still available. If the aftermarket part was longer or shorter, it would throw off the front end alignment so I assume that is untrue as well. The shop may not be totally bad, maybe they just have a bad "egg".
