I wanted to install some Hid lights on my magnum. Does anyone know some prices on HIDs. Does dodge have them from factory.

Can be a very costly install, if and when you find the parts.

Stock headlights work just fine for my old eyes.

i have HIDs on my Mag. (see my early tread "thoughts on HIDs"). very easy conversion. cost $200 - 300- you can easily spend more though.. oh yeah - it may be illegal in some states - home conversion, that is. all considered, i'm very happy with mine and they're headturner too.

Actually its illegal in all U.S. states given that DOT is a federal agency, and you are violating DOT rules by doing that. Not like its something they'll put you behind bars for but if you get pulled over and the ossifer spots it he's within his rights to add this to the pile.

In addition to the legality, the existing headlight housings aren't meant for an HID element. For some research on it go to

http://danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/bulbs.html

Now, with that said I personally love HID lighting. I've got two NiteRider Blowtorch lights pointing out the front of my StumpJumper FSR, so I appreciate what they can do. However they're just not designed for the Magnum's light housing and are illegal to boot.

I went with HIR's and have been very happy. Blazing light output and street legal (HIR's are used by Dodge in the Viper Hi-beams, but I think thats the only oem use of them). You can get a full set at http://hirheadlights.com for about $125. I wrote up a tutorial on how to fit them in at http://foohbar.com/light_bulb_saga.cfm

I can vouch for TxRides HID lights on his Magnum. HID will get your attention.

i would not do that - foglight housing is totally not designed for this kind of beam. you'd **** off lots of folks.
plus it may actually worsen lighting condition in a fog.
i'm personally happy with my stock fogs- i use them mostly as daytime running lights.

i've seen it done ( HID +HIDfog) in infiniti FX - it does look waaay cool, but i think they have OE designed to handle that.
you may also try matching it to reg. halogen with higher color temperature.
