And what about the tire pressure influence ? I used to run them at 32 PSI and a tire specialist recommended me to keep them at 40 for better balance between handling and even wear.

I've been running 40 psi since new and they are wearing even. 7000 miles. I usually split the difference between the auto manufacturer’s recommended pressure and the max on the tire.

ORIGINAL: MagnumRT

Don't switch tires from side to side, only front to rear.

Bob
Very old wives tale Bob...I thought we (technicians) had re-educated the public on this by now.

With the exception of directional tread tires or mix-matched sizes ALL radial should be cross rotated. The drive tires go directly for or aft and the non-drive tires get crossed or in the case of AWD or 4X4 the front tires get crossed back. This is to help even the irregular wear patterns that develop on the non-drive wheels.

Guys call conti up and put in a claim , Also do that with the dealer also. I will be getting 4 new tires from conti free as they know there are some issues and thaey have to correct them with a new harder compound tire free of charge.
