Volant Intake
This may be the best on the maket it lacks a few things:
1) Technical support - never calls back. Never follows up.
2) Installation instuctions - DONT EXIST. Call and ask for a fax - see what you get (if anything).
3) Parts list that comes with kit does not match kit. Parts are missing. Other parts are for who knows what.
4) Be prepared to rip your ENTIRE intake out INCLUDING all of the "EAR DRUM". This means jacking the car, remove tire, removing inner fender and more!
5) Be prepared to try and figure out what goes where.
6) Jack chased with Sam Adams will help improve your mood during installation.
7) Fit is good.
8) Fitting the cone tube is difficult - take your time else you may damage it.
9) BE SURE TO CLEAN THE TUBES BEFORE YOUR INSTALL. MINE WERE LOADED WITH DEBRIS.
The big question does it work? Yes but not a $200+ improvement over the stock box with the K&N drop in.
They should just drop the "CAI" tube and use the factory ear drum. Then at least they would have a product that you don't have to rip your car apart to install.
Just my personal opnion.

RE: Volant Intake
Toto is right.
I would add, make sure the box is pushed all the way down before installing the down tube. It does fit perfect the down tube takes a few tries. A picture or drawing would have saved some time. I was able to get the old silencer out without removing the tire. Just remove the splash gurards.

RE: Volant Intake
Anyone else have the Volant Cold Air Intake on their car?
Does it work?
Does it have a "throaty" air intake sound at full throttle?
What type of air filter does it use? Flat or cone?
What did you pay for it?
What store has the best price on it?
Am not happy with my 360 AirIntakez system, looking for something better.
Thanks,
Bob

RE: Volant Intake
Bob, I have the Volant on my r/t. Had the dealer put it on as I am getting to old to crawl under a car anymore. You have to take a plastic panel off under the engine to install. It has a great sound when you stand on it. Comes with a cone filter. As far as preformce goes, the service writer and the mech that installed it took it for a test drive. The service writer told me he driven a number of stock r/t's and said mine was a ball burner. I have also done the flowmaster 50 series and remove the resonators.
