Both the 125 & 112 are 2.25"

I had the 125 loved the tips & the sound, hated the MDS drone. So I bought a 112 system and installed it from the mufflers back almost too quiet now. I sold the 125 system.

Actually, there are two separate issues relating to the sound of the car with an aftermarket exhaust system. One is the change in sound as the MDS switches to four cylinder operation. Many drivers find this annoying and the louder the exhaust system, the more likely you are to hear it.

The second issue is "drone" which has been described as sticking your head in a tuba while an enthusiastic tuba player is playing a Sousa march. This drone is caused by resonace in the exhaust system and is dampened or eliminated by the "resonators" ( the smaller mufflers toward the rear). Depending upon the size and style of the mufflers, this type of drone will appear at certain RPMs and is considered by most to be really obnoxious.

For example, the Borla 125 does not use the resonators and will have some drone and, as it is a loud system, you will also hear the MDS kick in. The Borla 112 system uses resonators, so there is no little or no drone and the MDS change is barley noticable.

In general, full catback systems will not be as prone the drone problem as systems that are made louder by simply replacing the mufflers and/or resonatars or removing the resonators.

get the 125 I love it only thing i had to do is add some washers to a brace in the middle of the car since the new pipes were raddeling onit at iddle. Theres 4 bolts added 3 10mm washers each and noise is gone.
