Default oil light problems

Hello, I have a 05 magnum v6 and the oil light keeps coming on. It started when I would stop at a stop light at low RPM the the oil light would flash on. Tap the gas and it goes back out. When checking oil level all was OK. I changed oil and still have same problem. Now this has progressed to driving at speed the oil light comes on a stays on. I'm hoping the problems is with the sensor and not the oil pump not having enough pressure.

Anyone had this problem and can direct me in the right direction.

Dan

Is your Magnum by chance a 2.7?

remove sender, install real pressure gauge, verify oil pressure. if gauge says low, engine time. if pressure is good, cheap fix new sender. about as easy as I can make it.

How much oil pressure should I have at the sending unit? I'm guessing 40-60psi?????
