Default Question after my first test drive

First of all, great forum everyone!

I drove an R/T AWD (the really cool mineral gray BTW) at the local dealership today, and I had a question that I'd like to ask those of you that have one of these.

It really felt like I was riding on top of the car; more so than I really thought it would with the high belt line. Is that any different in the RWD version since it rides a little lower?

Honestly, I really felt like I was driving a minivan when driving this one. I was a little disappointed. I have an RSX, so I was expecting a somewhat higher seating position, but this was more than I expected.

Any of you have this kind of reaction? I need a bigger car because we'll have a baby to deal with before too long. Maybe I'm just not used to how a larger car feels.

Just wanted to get everyone's reaction. Thanks for reading.

Mike

Mike K,
Did you lower the Seat all of the way? The seats in the Magnum have about a 10" - 12" range. All the way up almost touches the Headrest to the Roof... I have mine lowered all the way and can't see the front hood or the Medians in the Middle of the Road on Left Hand Turns.

Also, although I LOVE this car, with 14, 13 and 7 year old children, nothing beats the Caravan. Getting your kid out while not waking them is priceless. Plus this car is too nice for my kids...

ORIGINAL: 2005 Magnum R/T Hemi
10" - 12"
I didn't realize there was that much travel in that seat. I thought I held the switch down until it stopped, but maybe I didn't. I guess I need a second trip to the dealer to check that out. Honestly, I was really pretty disappointed, so I hope that's the issue.

I was planning to come home and begin the "honey, it's really not that ugly" conversation with my wife, and that kind threw the wet blanket on things.

Thanks!

Mike

I came out of a Passsat, so I know the feeling. It goes away after just a few days.

I don't have the AWD but at 6' 1" I ride pretty low with the seat all the way down & tilted slightly back.
I feel lower than just about everybody on the road but the sports cars.
I even have a couple of the ladys at work calling me a low-rider.
Either the seat isn't adjusted right of it's the AWD IMHO

I'm going to head back to the dealer at lunch today and see if I can drive one again. I'll at least sit in another one and see if it was a seat issue.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
