Default rk sport hoods

i picked up a used rk sport hood for my '06 and have a question for those with this hood.

i know these fiberglass hoods are very poor quality with warpage, air bubbles, checks, and fit problems.
did anyone get a good one? for the $100 i paid for it, i have something to work with. i want to cut out the
fake vents and finish the cowl area so it clears the wipers.

my question is: does anyone make an air box for the magnum where i can make this hood a true ram-air
hood like my 1997 trans-am? i want the box to seal to the hood and only receive pressurized air through the
scoop. i want this a closed system.

rk sport doesn't tell you anything. they have enough problem with their products to worry about my dilemma.

with all it's problems, it is fully functional as is, fedding your 360 intake directly and sealing around it's heat box. Works with a K&N kit or a 360 Air Intakz power shot (which is the one I have).
I wouln't cut the cowl to avoid the wiper arm, you can lower the passenger wiper arm by removing a spacer thingy where it is mounted. I can send ya details if ya like. Actually, I havn't done mine yet so maybe I bust out a little video of doing it this weekend.
Since you shaving the fake louvers, you should think about filling in the holes for the washer sprayers too. They are worthless there, spraying on the cowl and basicly detracting asthetic value from the hood bigtime. Not sure why they put em in there (or the fake louvers, for that matter). You can get some sprayers that clip onto the wiper arms that look much better and work much better. I'd grab em from a jonk yard (older suburbans and such heve em) or if you wanna buy em from the dealership, get em for a prowler. They snap righ one with no prob.
As for as the warp you'll have on this ebay hood, I imagine many many coats of sand n fill, block-sanding after each one will greatly minimize it.
good luck, man. Good purchase for the dollar. I hope it turns out great for you.

thanks grin for the trick on the wipers. one more question: has anyone try to rework the fake vent to incorporates functional heat extractors. The louvered heat extractors could allow under hood heat to escape, helping to keep the engine bay cooler. maybe someone makes a conversion kit.

after all the body work is done to perfect the hood, is it stable as to where is won't get more waves. is rk's fiberglass cured long enough.
do i need to let this hood sit in a corner for a year to let it cure before fixing the warps?
