I notice that the passenger side airbag off light seems to have a mind of its own on my 2004 RT, anyone else seen this problem?

 

common problem the dealers now about it. needs new sensor in the pass seat. or if you have something light in the pass seat it will also trip the light. desined to kill the bag if a child to lite to activate the bag is up front. good idea bad desine. also dealers have new program if the sensor is good, that should fix it. work on my rt

 

Would it brighten your day If I told that that you actually have a 2005 RT?

Like Done said, it's a 2005 Magnum RT you have, right? Even the Magnums Built in April of 2004 are 2005 Magnums. Mine has a Build Date of 11/05/04, a 2005 Magnum RT...

Please confirm this for us...

 

Most times a reprogram will take care of it. I had to do it in mine. Takes about 30-45 min. Requires 3 weights I think as said before good idea bad design. I would rather have the manual on/off like the Ram had.

 

I had that problem after a... well lets just say a rather portly individual plopped down extra hard in the seat (literally jumped into the car for a ride)

Problem lasted for about a week. Maybe two. Then slowly went away on its own. I belted in a briefcase on the seat to keep the stupid alarm from going off.
