Default Great News Can't wait

Well I am redoing my entire stereo system. I am going with the AVIC D1 for navigation purposes and complimenting that with the new XM Nav Traffic system to help me navigate around DC during rush hour. I am replacing all the stock speakers with Boston Acoustic S-Series components in the front and 6X9's in the back. I will be running a JL E4300 4 channel amp to power everything. I am getting the work done two weeks from today. Hopefully things come out ok and I will post some pics. Now I am only about 10,000 mods away from catching up to GRINNER on my car.

Sounds like a great system. I just got mine done in my Mag. I went with all polk momo competition. Don't get it confused with the stuff they sell at Circuit City, this is the real deal. I went with 6 1/2" components in the front, with the tweets mounted in the dash locations. For the rear I went with comp 6x9's and a single 12" polk sub. For amp I went with a 400 watt 4-channel polk unit powering the entire system. Its the best system I've owned and I've had everything from JL to Infinity to BA's. I'm going on a trip; when I get back I'll get my gallery completed. Good luck with your system and can't wait to see the pics.

Any recommendations on which brand of speaker sounds best. I listen to hip hop to country rock and every kind a dance beat there is. The factory BA system is good right now but looking to upgrade next year, I am sure they will be blown by then! I have used polk's before and they sounded pretty decent, that was 9 years ago. The Premier (pioneer) amps in my ex-wife's car still work really well, they are about 8 years old! Any suggestions?

Hey i know I deserve crap for not doing it myself. I have installed many systems. But this would be my fist nav system. That is the first reason. The second reason is they are going to run all new wire for the speakers to by pass the amp in the boston acoustic system that came with the car. I really didn't want to replace the speakers but the part i need to keep them and the amp and put in a new radio is still being made and I want the system now. SO that combined with no time and the heat, why not pay someone else. I think I am paying 500 total for installation of everything. The guys I am having do it have done one of my cars before and about five of my friends. So I trust their work. Now I have to work on the wife to get a sub in there. Probably will get a self powerd sub so I can take it in and out and not have to worry about it. I had a self powered one in my durango and it sounded great. Well I hope everything works out and I will pictures posted sometime the end of june in two weeks.

DUDE, 500 BUCKS!!

but hey its cool, i have always just done it myself, ya know if you want it done wrong and like the smell of fire it yourself.
yes definently add a sub, i stashed a 1000w Hi-fonics ZUES amp under the cargo tray in back (up near the seat), and am powering a PPI pro flat-piston competion woofer in a custom built "deathbox", and the cool thing is a can unplug the speaker wired unstrap the box and have all the factory cargo space.

back on the do it yourself thing, if i had the money or the common sense i would have someone else do my installs as well, did you know that if you but enough power to the illumination wire in some cars you can turn on the parking lights, oh and a fully charged 1 farad capacitor is like an arc welder.

anyways post some pics when its all done

Yeah 500 is a little on the high side, but they do excellent work. Plus I dont have worry about the labor part. As much as I enjoy it, I really don't want to do it myself and then mess up the electrical on my baby. And I would definitely stay away from a fully charged 1 farad cap. Could do some damage. lol.
