Sirius Replacement Question
I have the Sirius satellite radio option in my Magnum R/T
The wife has a XM roadie in her PT and the song selection (especially in deep tracks) is 100 times better.
I don't mind as long as it's free for the 1st year but I won't pay for it after that expires.
My question....
Is it possible to swap out the receiver in the back without having to change the antenna & wireing??

I totally agree that XM is better! To answer your question about swaping out the reciever in the back... the answer is no not yet.
XM (Terk specificly) has come out with a reciever that plugs into OEM radios. Chrysler/Dodge is among them. Unfortunatly the LX platform and the 2005+ Durangos have "different" stereos. They look the same as the others and the connections in the back are the same BUT the sat recievers in our vehicles uses a CAN-Bus C protocol to communicate to the head unit. Most the other manufacturers (including other Chrysler models) use an older standard.
I bought the XM kit expecting it to fail and it did. I sent a number of emails to Terk and they verified what I learned. They did say that they were working on a CAN-bus kit but would not speculate on release.
When THAT kit comes out, it would be a simple plug and play.

The way that the kit (that does not work) functions is that you plug into the back of the radio and that is about it.
The magnum sat reciever is in the left rear quarter. I do not think the cabling provided was long enough for that length (may have been). The kit comes with the small antenna but the built in one could be used as well.
If you located the reciever under the dash you could leave the sirius unit in place - just unplugged.

It sounds like the kit you mention that's not available yet is what I want.
I want to just swap out units and use the existing antenna & wireing.
We all got a year of free Sirius with our 2005 Magnums and I'd think if XM is wise they'll have the swap out unit ready when the freebe runs out.
I'm hopin', it kinda sux not having the choice when buying :-(.

Yup... I am keeping an eye out for the kit. I was an inch away from swaping the head unit for the pioneer that has the traffic nav option... only it cost as much as my headers did and I would loose the stearing wheel controls.
