Default Hood and Tailgate Gassprings

2005 Magnum RT: Anyone know a source for aftermarket (not from dealership) hood and tailgate gas springs (aka, struts, gas pistons...)?
Mine don't seem to work in the cold weather.

Napa can order those for you if they dont have em in stock. haven't ordered em for my mag yet, but i am sure they can do it. I've gotten them for several makes and models through the years, never had an issue with the replacements from them, always outlasted my ownership of the vehicles.

I just did mine - I got the hood set from eBay (HOOD SUPPORT SHOCK STRUT LIFTS DODGE) $28 (free shipping), and the tailgate set from MoparPartz.com $40 (7.50 shipping). Both came as a pair, not individually. The tailgate sets are on eBay sometimes, too, but not as often as hood.

Just remember to use "strut" or "lift supoort" in search tools and make sure they're for a Magnum. I've hear horror stories from people who got a set for a different car, thinking there wasn't a difference, and they ended up folding their hood in half because the strut was too strong.

Wear gloves to remove the old ones - I got a nasty screwdriver gouge trying to release the old ones!
