Default AfterMarket Speaker Sizes

So to get this straight we have 2 in the back, 2 in the door, and 2 up front. What are the sizes. And is Boston so good I should stick with that company or should I just go with my personal favorite, Infinty's? What are you favorite speakers, I am looking for all around good mids and crisp highs. Don't worry about bass, I have that under control...

6x9, 6x9 and 3 1/2. No advantage that I know of to stay with BA. Go with what you like.
no real favorites for me but this is what I have.
Eclipse SE8235 in dash 2 way
Alpine SPS-690A in front doors 2 way
Eclipse SE8495 in rear panels 4 way
JL 10" Sub in Audio Enhancers box in rear cargo area
JL E1200 Amp for Sub

6x9s in the doors?!?!?! I thought they would be round. Man these things have bang for them being 6x9s. So do the panels on all 6 just "pop" off. The ones I am concerned about are the front ones... How do you guys feel on MB Quart and Polk MOMO?

I'm running all Polk Momo competition in my Mag. So far the quality is great. I have used JL and Infinity in the past but I have to say for the money, the Polk Momo stuff is the best bang for the buck. I did something a little different with my setup. I'm running 6 1/2" components in the front door with the crossovers mounted behind the door panels. I have tweeters in the dash locations, and 6X9's in the rear. I've got 1 12" sub in the back (Polk as well) all running off a 400 watt Polk Momo competition amp. I should have some pictures ready in my gallery by tomorrow afternoon.

one thing to be aware of though is while it is 6x9 front and rear the mounting depth is fairly shallow, I think it was about 3 1/2" in the back and even less in the doors, if you're going to put a sub in i'd go with 6 1/2" or 6 3/4" round speakers instead as you will have more options due to the mounting depth and they produce a cleaner sound, and the sub would be doing the job producing base so the 6x9's wouldn't be needed, that's what I did in mine, 6 1/2" infinity kappa component speakers front and rear and 2 12" infinity subs.

The cars with the Boston "upgraded" stereo have 6X9's in the doors. The cars with standard stereos like in my SXT have 6 1/2" (the Alpines are 6 3/4") door speakers.
You can switch from one to the other simply by buying the adapters for what ever size you want. Pics of the system are on the site below in my signature.

I figured out what I will get... For the mids and highs I'll use Boston Acoustics (3 1\2 - S35, 6 1\2 - Pro60) then get a Boston Acoustic 4 Channel Amp for the 6 1/2 (GT-42). And for the sub woofers and amp to power them (I possess both) I have 2 12's (AWES12P) and the big daddy (A2300HCT).

Now being a six channel plus subs system, how would the installer power the front 3 1\2's seeing they only have a 30 watt RMS?

hey check out my post in the forum here. I just redid everything with BA speakers. Don't need to go with the pro speakers. for the extra money i dont' think you will hear that much. My set up is pretty much similar to 356 magnum. The set up is now two for two in the cars. I also have a list of what was put in my car there too.

oh also i would leave the tweeters in the factory location. they sound awesome with the BA's and only go with 2 way in the back so it doesn't over power the front.
