ECM Problems / Stalling / Idiot Lights
I've posted on this before, but now I have a better understanding.. Here Goes It!
I have an '06 Dodge Magnum R/T that has recently stalled and a few of the idiot lights come on (check engine light, BAS/ESP, and the Electrical Light [the one with the lightning bolt].
I can restart the car but the lights stay on, and the engine typically bogs down. I basically can't run the car at full throttle as it would stall or the engine cuts out for a few seconds.
My mechanic says that the ECM (engine control management) computer is the problem. I've also had the turn signal switch appear to break, which someone else suggested has a relationship to this, that there is some steering column module that is a part of this.
I've heard from other Magnum and Charger owners that their ECM's are failing, and that it might be due to corrosion in the connections where the ECM plugs in...I've heard rumors that this can be fixed with some simple soldering...but I've gotten nowhere on the follow up to it.
I'm out of warranty, and so far I am not getting any response from Dodge/Chrysler customer care. I've actually sent them a certified letter with my complaint.. over 2 months ago. (NO RESPONSE)
Any Ideas here?
