Did some diamond plate and some flammage for my bride's ride:


While the diamond plate look turned out great, the pinstripe flames just don't work. But hey, ya never know till ya try and when modding your spouse's ride on father's day, the thought behind it goes along way. I'll leave the diamond plate, strip off the center insert and flames and try another design there.

 

Agree with ya on the flames, but overall...nice.

 

I am seeing some nice mods to the engine cover, but how are you guys mounting this stuff so it doesn't come off due to high heat?

 

It's a slef-adhesive metal-based 'vinyl'. It's not vinyl but it applies just like vinyl. The diamond plate is smooth to the touch... totally fake... just for looks.
