Well...I finally did my first off the line race with this guy. So i am driving on the highway and he comes blowing on by me at like 90. He sees my car and slows down. Two young guys in there. They are checking it out and fall in behind me and pull off the off ramp with me and line up beside me at the first light we come too. The rev their engine and laugh and point at the car. My friend proceeded to ask me if I have ever raced. I told him no and this probably wasn't the best time since the two lane road narrowed to one about 100 yards down the road. But I was like well they were asking for it chasing me down. So I drop it into first but don't rev my engine to see if i can surprise them. well he definitely got me off the line b/c he was lighter by 500 lbs or so. but as soon as my car hit 2500 rpms in first the thing shot off like a cannon. i didn't shift and let it do its thing. lets just say i had a half a car lenght by the merge and he had to pull up. i think i got up to 80 in third gear by this point. it was fun. didn't break the tires free and i wish i had a better jump off the line. but over all i was impressed with the car and how it handled. not sure what the guy was running under the hood but his car definitely twisted at the line when he was reving the engine.

Did the Mustang have any mods? Do you have any mods? I tried a '90 Model Mustang with at least good exhaust and a Manual. He got me by about a half a Mustang car length at my front end at about 60 or 70, and I don't think I would have pulled on him, just stayed even... Still, didn't feel bad that his Rocket barely nosed in front of me. My RT is totally stock, with an Air Filter, dirty at that... Also, the fact that he had a Manual and knew how to drive it didn't hurt his position anyway... Read here in the fourm that we would hole shoot them and then they catch us at about 90 mph. He shot me off the line and I didn't catch back up until he hit 2nd gear...

 

I don't have any mods. Not sure if he did. I am sure that he was a good shift driver though b/c i didn't see the normal jerky shifting car stalling looking action you see with normal drivers. This car was smooth with little hesitation on the shift. But i know whatyou are saying about off the line. he had me by 1/4 length right away.
