Newbie here! 08 SE
Hi all from Canada's most easterly Province,
On May 17th, I bought a 2008 Magnum SE with 131,000 km (about 65,000 miles). Burgundy with (as far as I can tell) only the stability/traction control option.
Other than my very 1st car in 1984 (which was a 1979 Chevette), I have not had another rwd car. I have had 2 AWD cars, but this is a fresh experience for me. Gonna be fun in our winters, with lots of snow, freezing rain and black ice. Yep, studded winter tires are in the car's future.
It is a very clean car, prior owned by two seniors without kids or pets. Paint is good, not perfect. Rust bubbles all along the leading edge of the hood, but that's it. We live in a very salty climate, with salt used on the roads in the winter, so my prior car, a 2002 PT Cruiser, was so rusty the rocker panels were non-existent anymore.
Soon will be installing new pads all around, along with new tires. Other than a clunk in the L/F suspension, the only issue really is that the R/R door refuses to open. I can hear the solenoid trying to actuate the lock, but it doesn't. I have the door panel off now, waiting for time to actually check it out. Anyone have experience with this? I am most certainly not a mechanic. As well, today the driver's door decided to begin having the same problem; it took several pushes of the key fob before the door would open. Note that the lock button will not rise nor fall when this happens.
Anyway, hoping for a few years with this car.
Cheers,
Brian
