a modern car with a touch of old. no, that's not primer on the hood. that is a base coat, clear coat system with flatting agent. i know it is not for everyone, but i really like this musclecar look.

I like the looks of the hood, not too crazy about the paint choice.

Nice work,

I have always liked the flatblack look. What you think about this? Paint the area around the grill(between the headlights and the inch or so below the grill just above the bumper line. Then continue over the roof between the black plastic weld covers and to the rear hatch area below the window. Sort of like the common strip treatment. This way the hood will become part a whole.

As for the flatting agent in the clear coat, what happens if you get wax on it? Is it smooth or textured like a flat paint job? If it is smooth then should be able to use wax remover to restore the flat look?

I love the fill job of the "viper" scoops on the side of the hump. That is the main reason I havent even thought about getting the hood, I just dont like the "viper" scoops. Looks good as is though. Maybe this winter a tree limb will fall on the hood, since the hail have seem to keep missing the hood haha.
