This seems to be the one spec that Magnum owners rarely talk about in their posts. I was looking at the thread about tires and did not realize that there were different offsets for the AWD 18" rims and the RWD 18" rims. I nearly made a costly mistake on ebay. It also has to matter when people are talking gas milage. (I find it hard to believe that both the AWD and RWD can be rated the same for MPG).

P.S. I voted AWD.

Don't need the AWD here in Florida, if I was back in Illinois I would.

It must be great to not have to enter that into the equation. Up here in New England, the first thing we ask ourselves when we are car shopping is, "How does it do in the snow?" For me, buying an RWD R/T would have been nuts. Buying an AWD R/T would have been fantastic, but would have cost me about $6K-$10 more than my AWD SXT.

This is my third AWD "CAR". I do not like SUVs, no offense, just not my style.

Now I now cannot imagine living in a snow area without AWD, it is that much better, and my life is worth a lot to me. AWD and dedicated snow tires in the winter is the way to go in the snow.

Passed my Passat 4Motion on to the wife (drove 325is BMW). She did not understand until the first snow, now she is converted as well.

I'm living in Ohio now but will be moving to Florida either this year or early next. I'm still going with AWD. The reason for this is after owning both RWD and AWD cars with 300+ hp even on dry pavement the AWD always has the advantage off the line and controls big power better IMHO.
The AWD R/T came in at 5.9 0-60 vs the RWD R/T at 6.2 in a recent head to head even though it weighs a little more. I feel that this will become more signifigant with more power. And once they get the Supercharger kit figured out a little better I plan on getting one. Plus you don't get that annoying fall on your face feel when you forget to turn off the ESP an punch it, I learned that one the hard way on a test drive with the RWD.
After Driving both the RWD and AWD R/Ts the AWD is my pick I just wish it didn't ride so high but I was going to setup the suspension to handle better any way. P.S. I'm gonna try to find the Article on the head to head and post it. It was pretty good.

I am from MI and own an RWD model because I saw many reviews that the traction control is worthy of winter driving as long as the roads are taken care of.

We shall see.

A guy I work with owns a 4x2 Nissan Titan and said it did very well in the snow last winter and it was an ugly winter. I debated it for a while, but with two kids under 5 years old in my car every morning, I did not want to chance it.

My mom is looking into the RT-AWD in NE. She doesn't care too much about fuel economy, as her minivan is doing pretty horribly at 15-18 mpg. If she got the SXT she would get the advanced audio system, leather, and side impact airbags, and she wants good pic up(she loves my dads TL, but she wants something bigger for herself with AWD) so she figured its worth the 1kish more for the HEMI she would end up paying. SHe probably wont be buying for now it looks like 6 months, BUT RT-AWD, Here we come(unless they put an independant suspension on the durango).
