Engine Tapping

My wife has a 2008 Magnum sxt 3.5 and I have noticed lately that there as a slight tap in the motor when it starts and even at idle sometimes.I had the oil changed and put synthetic in but it still does it.Is this a warning that there is a lifter going or does anyone have any thoughts?Thanks
