2005 Dodge Magnum engine code reset?

I just replaced the thermostat on my 2005 SXT 3.5l, running fine now. I need to clear the fault code. Auto Zone says its their new policy to not clear codes.

Can this be done without a scan tool?

You will need a computer somewhere. Forget autozone. Look for an advanced auto parts, some pep boys will have the computer, or look up your local Dyno shop. They will all have computers.

I was able to clear it. Disconnected the neg side of the battery, waited 10 mins, turned key on for 5 secs. Fault cleared. Not sure if I needed to do the on, but it worked.
