I have an issue with my HVAC system. The "Recirculation" or "Max A/C" does not work all i get is fresh. Also if I attempt to change the temp at all I get a clicking noise coming from inside the dash that will not stop until I turn the ignition off. Any ideas if they are related and if so how can I fix it?

Have you checked the refrigerant to see if it is low? Not sure noise is related to the the recirculation or Max A/C mode issue. Noise could be the blower motor, blend door/actuator or compressor. A repair facility or dealer will have the diagnostic tools to provide a specific diagnosis.

Yes I had it looked at and he said the refrigerant is fine and that the only way to be sure what it is was to take the dash apart and find the noise. I am sure it has to be the same issue as it sounds like plastic gears trying to move something stuck or broken. Where exactly is the "Blend Door/Actuator located? Can it be looked at without taking the whole dash apart?

Here is the blend door actuator information from the Service Manual.

REMOVAL
WARNING: Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

NOTE: The single zone heater-A/C system is equipped with a single blend door actuator. The dual zone system has two blend door actuators, one for the driver side blend-air door and one for the passenger side blend-air door.
NOTE: LHD model shown in illustrations. RHD model similar.

SINGLE ZONE/DUAL ZONE DRIVER SIDE

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. 2. If equipped, remove the instrument panel silencer from the driver side of the instrument panel (Refer to 23 - Body/Instrument Panel/PANEL, Silencer - Removal) . 3. Remove the two screws (4) that secure the blend door actuator (12) to the driver side of the HVAC air distribution housing (3). 4. Remove the blend door actuator from the air distribution housing and disconnect the HVAC wire harness connector (2) and remove the actuator from the vehicle.

DUAL ZONE PASSENGER SIDE

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. 2. Remove the glove box from the instrument panel (Refer to 23 - Body/Instrument Panel/GLOVE BOX, Instrument Panel - Removal) . 3. Remove the two screws (1) that secure the blend door actuator (2) to the passenger side of the HVAC air distribution housing (3). 4. Remove the blend door actuator from the air distribution housing and disconnect the HVAC wire harness connector (4) and remove the actuator from the vehicle.

OK I replaced the Heat/Cold actuator on the Drivers side and the clicking noise is gone but I am still having an issue with the Max "ReCirculate" A/C not working, only fresh air comes in. I can tell because when I am behind a gross polluter or smoker the exhaust and fumes come right inside the cab through the vents. ANy suggestions on what I should be looking for? I looked behind the glove box but do not know what actually controls this function.
