Default thermostat temp

Whats the thermo temp on a 2006 SRT magnum.
Inherited the car from a elderly friend last month.
I've seen the temp gauge go a little over halfway; the digital readout has been as high as 221.
The car is 100% stock.
Thanks!

One of the best first mods you can make (even if you don't adjust the fan settings right away to match) is swapping in a 180° thermostat. These things make and retain a lot of heat. All my hemi's have 180's.

Default 6.1 thermo temp

sounds like a good place to start.
Anytime a temp gauge goes over 1/2 way, I get a little concerned. But this may be perfectly normal for all I know.

For the stock thermostat it is, it'll routinely shoot past 200°-210° even with the fan running. With the 180° stat it generally runs185°-200° depending on how hard I'm thrashing it, time of year (ambient temp), etc. Temp management is especially important with aluminum heads on an iron block.
