Default Transmission Clunking? 05 Magnum RT AWD

So, I got a 2005 Dodge Magnum RT AWD at 74k miles, and it seemed to always have a small noticeable clunk when letting off the gas. Never thought anything of it. I've now got 119k Miles, and it clunks even louder, all the time now when I'm letting off the gas, or hitting the gas, it'll just clunk real quick. As of 2 days ago, this has gotten worse and now when the car is downshifting as I'm coming to a stop, it'll clunk as if it's slamming hard into that lower gear. I've started to use manual mode today to down shift from D to 4th to 3rd, and from there, I let it do the rest and it seems to not clunk as much. Depends on the speed at which I'm coming to a stop. I have no records on this car, so I have no idea if the trans fluid has even been flushed or replaced. I'm thinking about buying a Dipstick for it, and just replacing the fluid and filter myself. I do not have the kind of money for somebody else to do it... Im a broke uber eats driver, struggling to get another job. What are yalls thoughts on this? Anybody else having this issue?

Check your u-joints, remember you have two driveshafts.

People are saying that you can't replace those, I'm confused. So what exactly should I replace? The driveshaft? and are they both the same or different? I can't find much on it. I appreciate the reply.

You may not be able to replace the joints themselves but you can replace the whole driveshaft unit.

Hey, I appreciate that. I'm going to go ahead and replace it. Just need to figure out which one to do. Do you know if they both are upfront, left and right or would it be a front one and back one?

Don't confuse driveshaft with axle. You have front and rear shafts that run fore and aft from your transfer case. You have CV axles at all four corners. Usually you get a different noise when CV joints are going bad. Don't just throw parts at it, that gets expensive quickly (and with these cars is a royal pain in the ***). Figure out where it's coming from first.

I've been doing hella googling. I looked up " Bad Driveshaft Ujoint symptoms " My car is doing half the symptoms. It's either this or my transmission is actually about to go bad. It can't hurt to to put new driveshafts in, especially if I'm going to be putting work into this car. I took out a 5 year loan for this car, and I'm only 7 to 8 months in... So yeah, at this point, I can't go wrong putting new driveshaft in. If that doesn't fix it, then my transmission is going bad quick.
