Default Check engine light with new cold air intake

Sup im new to the forums and some what new to playing with my baby (car) I'm in the process of learning to work on my car. I just put on a new cold air intake using the same factory air sensor that was on the box intake i popped it out of the old one and into the new intake and now I'm getting a check engine light and the code it's throwing is the air intake. What is this issue and how do I fix it?

Some cold air intakes require a tune since more air is being seen by the MAF than the factory intake. So you will either need a tuner or buy a bigger MAF.

How careful were you swapping it over? Those IAT sensors are sensitive.

Did you disconnect the battery before you swapped out the intake? This resets the computers. Without a reset the computer would see an immediate difference coming from the sensor before/after the intake swap and throw an error code. Try disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes or so before spending any money.
