Are you unsure if the it's the original engine? Have an engine and dunno what it came out of?

When I bought the car I was told it was replaced under warranty at approx. 100,000 miles. Just trying to confirm it is not the original.

I assume you you got that number off the valve cover. Only a dealer can tell you what that is. If you got it off the VC then the engine part number should be there with it, you can run that (Google) and see what comes up. Otherwise unless you can tell physically that the engine has been removed, there is no way to confirm it. They don't stamp VIN's, etc on engines like back in the old days.

Just check your VIN number for more information. Maybe this decoder could help. Actually, there are lots of online services where you could find information about your car.

2yrs later lol....

However that decoder (which links here for the build sheet) won't tell you anything about the engine itself other than what the car was built with.
