Default Engine oil.

So I have an 05 Magnum RT. Had a CEL and code for oil pressure sensor and also code for wrong engine oil type. I have never seen the wrong engine oil type code before. I know it has 5w20 and that is what it calls for. It's not an assumption as to having it changed at the shop. I bought the oil, took it with me, and I changed it with my uncle at his shop. Does anyone know why it would say that. Could it be from the oil pressure sensor being bad.?

It's most likely something to do with the sensor. If you know for sure the sensors bad, change it and see if the wrong engine oil type code goes away. That's a code i've never seen before.

Possible causes

  • Incorrect engine oil viscosity
  • Incorrect oil type
  • Oil contamination
Is your contaminated with something? Is coolant leaking into your oil?
