Default brake noise

I was wondering if anyone else was having the same issue as I am and if they got the problem resovled. Under hard braking when I come to a complete stop, I get some loud groaning and creaking from my front brakes. My buddy who is a brake engineer says that it's probably just a characteristic of the braking system. He thinks it's because of the soft pad compound. He said the noise is a trade off for short braking distances. Anyone else experience this.

Kowalcs,
Yes, mine does too... But only when braking VERY hard. I thought I needed new Brakes at 23,000 Miles, but I had about 75% left on my pads. I also noticed heat spots on my rotor... This from 125 MPH to 45 MPH sudden (very sudden) slowing, or 90 MPH to 0 MPH stops, so I was told... No warping on the discs, just heat spots... for now... I wonder how the SRT-8 Brakes perform under harsh conditions... Hmmm...

Thanks for the reply. I wouldn't say that mine does it under "very" hard braking only, but moderately hard. Sounds like it's just a characteristic of the braking system on these vehicles.

I see I'm not only one..Exact same thing with my RT ...braking from high speeds(90 and up) you get that groaning...below that speed it seems fine....could be that rotors have very slight warpage...22k miles. They still stop like a SOB though.
