With the PCM designed as it is today, there is no silver bullet for any power increases with the exception of a supercharger or turbo.
That said, there was a ton of tests run via a Dyno that showed all the popular CAI's don't do anything except add a cool sound. They do nothing for power, speed or response. The dyno proved it warm or cold..they add nothing. Of course with the exception of sound. When a programmer finally comes out hopefully later this year, then we will be able to re-program the computer to allow for the increase.. The PCM that the LX cars have now "learns" the mods and adjusts the air/fuel mixture to make sure they system keeps constant. Good for DC, bad for all of us...hence the reason for a programer to hack the PCM.
So what does all this mean..buy all the mods you want, but please don't expect any real increase until someone finally hacks the PCM..

something to keep in mind about the open box intakes (the filter is very exposed) is that yes, they allow more air to be sucked through the filter, but it tends to suck in the hot air from under the hood. you'll still get power increases, but not as much as if you had an closed box intake with a ram air feeding it..anyone get any gains from ram air yet?
