has anyone tried to install sxt rear end in a rt? the gears are much lower and i have one to try, not sure if it is the same and will bolt up or not. doing more research this weekend.

 

from what i've read they won't bolt up, and even if they did you would toast them in no time as they wouldn't be able to handle the torque, they were designed for the 3.5L which has 140lb-ft less torque than the 5.7

 

thats what every one said about a stock 10 bolt in a 85 trans am. my wifes drag car has a blown 383 that runs mid 10,s whith a 1.41 60 foot time. still going to look into it if they are the same im trying it, the that can happen you brake the sxt gears and put the stock gears back in.

 

you could use the r/t AWD gears. i believe they're 3.07:1 compared to your 2.82:1
