Default Fuel Filler Area Protection

I am so ****, but here goes. I have been searching to protect the Magnum when filling up. I have seen some vehicles with a flap that can extend down the side of the car when filling up so as to not scratch the paint with the filler hose handle and it serves as a place to rest the teathered gas capas well. I could remove the teather from the gas cap, but that still leaves the hose handle problem. I think I saw one for the Magnum on a site someplace but since I am a recent owner and have been all over the web searching for Magnum anything and everything....LOL> I just can't find it again. Has anyone seen anything similar.

Strykker,
Try this link... It is pretty extensive. Either that or try LX Forums.com. I too saw that link, but there are so many pages now, it would take days to search through it all...

be very carefull when playing around the fuel filler neck. a static spark could be deadly. maybe you could do something like dodge did on the '06 magnums to fix this problem.

Oh I'm not going to do any crazy, I know what you mean. I saw a soft rubber flap somewhere, just trying to find it again. I did find out that you can move the teather on the cap from it's stock location to the hole on the outside corner of the filler door. That takes care of the cap now the gas nozzle issue is next.

I moved the tether, and hang it on the little rubber nub on the gas cap door, and it stays there. I have over 20,000 miles on mine, which means I have been to the gas station a LOT, and cannot remember the filler hose or handle ever touching the paint.
