So I took my magnum R/T with 61k miles in to the shop today because a few weeks back the car was acting funny going into reverse and didn’t want to leave first gear once. A SINGLE TIME. shifted through all gears and everything else perfectly when I drove it to the shop this morning. They called me when I got off work around 5 saying that my trans was toast and it was 4 quarts low on fluid and that it’s leaking from the top of the trans case when they added fluid and he thinks it’s cracked. Could this really be what’s going on with only 61k miles on a nag1 trans? Should I get a second opinion?
