Default Starter and Flex plate scrapes bad, but starts help please

My 2006 Dodge Magnum SXT 3.5L will start,but the starter is tearing up the flex plate.

Wow .... lots of missing info here .... when did this start .... did it always do this?
What have you done so far .... Is the starter loose and sitting at a angle? ..... Have you removed the inspection cover and checked the flex plate bolts to be tight?

Obvious something is out of alignment here ..... the longer you run it like this, the more it will cost to repair. Or the more work it will be to repair.

Thanks for answering. This started happening about a month ago. I don't drive it , I get a ride to work. It seems like it's not straight. But I can't seem to put the shim on right. It scrapes the flex plate, and if I play with the position, it just sounds like a drill under my car.
