Warranty Void for Exceeding 100 MPH too many times?
Has anyone Heard of this yet? I have heard that Mazda, owned by Ford, has voided a perfectly good factory warranty due to the vehicle being over 100 MPH too many times. "The car wasn't made to be driven like that", was the statement given by the Dealership. I know the Magnum also has a 'Black Box' in it that records such information, so I was just curious if anyone has heard a similar response from Dodge...
No I have not, but that is totally rediculous...yeah they have black boxes but I believe they only store a finite number of minutes and constantly clear themselves, but they do trap the error codes and all sensor feedback when that error code is tripped.
Secondly, Dodge put 160 MPH speedometers on these cars...they definitely will be going over 100 A LOT.
I think Mazda will have an issue if they are doing this.

I would be in serious trouble....Dodge sells these to those of us stationed overseas. I am in Germany where I can go 100+ any time I want. The Germans sell the 300C and 300C Touring (Magnum) RT Hemi cars without the 129 MPH limit, I think they go to 165....
No governor, but you top out at 172mph because at the end of your top gear your RPMs are hitting the rev limiter.
172 is fast enough for me

Ill bet if you leave the battery disconnected for maybe overnight, everything will be cleared. Even if they have some sort of back up battery, that should run it down too. Reconnect next morning and everything should be cleared. (theory only)
