Default Jeep SRT8 Strut Brace for Magnum

Hello everyone from the new guy.

I'm looking at a Magnum SRT8, but will wait for the next new model year or two - hoping for backup assist, rear dvd (both in the 300 SRT8), perhaps AWD, and some fine tuning to show up.

I noticed in a recent Car&Driver photo that the Jeep STR8 has a factory front (not sure if it has one on the rear) strut brace. It is C shaped and terminates on the inner side of each strut tower. Any idea if it would fit the Magnum?

Has anyone considered frame cross braces? I'm new to the LX bodies, so I'm unsure if it is possible or reasonable to do so.

Cheers.

P.S. I recently rented an SXT Magnum and drove it about 1500 miles in a long weekend and loved it! Drove through some pretty serious highway speed snow and it was great. Amazing handling for such a tank (and I use that term affectionately).

Default RE: Jeep SRT8 Strut Brace for Magnum

Although I'm a fan of words, here's a pic:

I imagine the distance between the strut towers is different, but if it is greater, then the bar could easily be adapted, providing the Magnum towers are as sturdy on the lateral face.

Regardless of gap space, a custom bar could be built providing the towers are sturdy enough and there is sufficient underhood clearance.

Maybe SRT will specify/install one for the next model year, although I'd guess it was considered and the argument that the LX chassis architecture is stiff enough, compared to the cost of including the bar (and an increase beyond what customers will pay), won out. Few things are as simple or easy as they first appear.
