Clicking noise under hard accelleration
I thought that there was a TSB on this, but I couldn't find it. I hear a clicking noise under hard accelleration on my R/T. It goes away when I let off the gas. Is this just a characteristic of this vehicle or can this be fixed? It doesn't sound like there is anything wrong, just an annoying sound. It's not an exhaust leak or valve noise or anything like that.

That sound is driving me nuts.
I was told it was characteristic. Does yours make a ticking sound at idle? Changing brands of fuel made that one go away for me but occassionally I hear the rapid ticking during a fast accel. I think maybe it might go away as it gets broke in. 2k on the clock for me.
I changed the oil on a HEMI in a Jeep Cherokee the other day. It had about 15K on the clock and the engine was smooth and quiet. Hope mine behaves that way soon.

SUBJECT:
FLASH: Clicking Sound From Rear of Vehicle After Accelerating From A Stop
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control
Module (PCM) with new software.
MODELS:
2005 - 2006 (LX) 300/Magnum
NOTE: This bulletin applies to 2006 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L engine (sales
code EGG) and a 42RLE transmission (sales code DG6) built on or before
July 29, 2005 (MDH 0729XX) and 2005 vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.5L
engine (sales code EER or EGG) and a 42RLE transmission (sales code DG6).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The new PCM software corrects a customer complaint of a click sound, coming from the
rear of the vehicle, immediately after accelerating the vehicle from a stop.
This sound may be verified by driving the vehicle and allowing the transmission to shift into
4th gear then allowing the vehicle to coastdown to a stop, without tipping into the
accelerator pedal before the complete stop. The sound will be heard immediately after
launching the vehicle and will seem to be coming from the rear of the vehicle.

RE: Clicking noise under hard accelleration
I have an 06 Magnum R/T, I have installed a K&N CAI and have noticed a sound that I cannot get an explanation of. It sounds like a something is flapping within the CAI tube but that is impossible. It only happens during moderate acceleration. Anyone else have this?
