i recentley lost a key for the magnum, and try to make a duplicate and found out that they dont work. the first time it started then stopped, the second time it didnt even start but when it did for a second a light lit up on the dash. dose anyone ells have this problem? i geuss ill have to buy a oem key from the dealership and get it programed all for about $90.00

 

I got 2 keys when my Magnum came in..I had a spare(one they made and programmed)made by dealer..I had a regular spare to hide under chasis that will only unlock the doors but will fit ignition but will start for a few seconds then shut off..This is normal for theft purposes..I hid a key in magnum that will start it just in case I have one of those days.I will never go without a hide a key after my wife and I got my new truck a few years ago and we were at party and she goes out and starts it up in the middle of the summer and somehow locked the doors with it running..I was about 25 minutes from home and had my mom go to my house and bring me my spare.At the time I bought the truck i was under the impression you can't accidentily lock them inside..Yes you can if truck is running and you hit the door lock.....But try to lock door with the key in the ignition only and you can't power lock the doors..they keep popping open when you hit the switch..so I hid one for the wife and one that I swear no one will find but me in case my old lady loses the spare also..I'm not going to let it happen to me again..Hide magnum master key good inside or you won't go nowhere without it...
