Does anyone have any experience installing an elctric brake controller for a trailer intheir magnum? Did you have to run wires all the way throughout the car, or is there a prewired connection under the dash to tie in? I have an AWD RT with the tow prep. The dealer installed the hitch and lights. The also installed the 7 pin connector, which would work with a trailer with brakes. Just wondering for future reference. In the Super Duty I traded in, I just had a connection under the dash. Made life real easy. Thanks for the info.

I was wondering if you were able to hook up an electronic brake controller in your RT? I am looking at buying an RT AWD with tow package and would like to be able to install a brake controller. Also, do you know how to verify from the VIN that your vehicle is equipped with the factory installed tow prep equipment (severe duty cooling, load leveling suspension)?

The VIN on the RT I am looking at is 2D8GZ5822 5H614060. The recall checker on the dodge website confirms that it is an RT AWD but that's about it. Is there possibly some additional equipment sticker under the hood that verifies it?

I wouldn`t think the Maggie should be towing anything that NEEDS elec. brakes. What`s the tow rating on a Magnum R/T anyway , I don`t have my manual in front of me to find out.
