2.7 engine same as the Intrepid?
Hi, I'm looking at some base levels mag's and I was wondering if the 2.7 engine is the same engine as they had in the Intrepids? I heard the engines at major problems...Please help!!! thanks

Yes, they are the same engine except there have been improvements made to alleviate the sludging problems in the earlier versions. That's what I see being said on these forums. There is a gentleman on another Magnum forum that got into a lengthy discussion on this issue, Old Navy, I believe it was.
Anyway, if you change the engine oil religiously and use synthetic, you should be OK.
My only caveat is that I am NOT a mechanic nor did I play one on TV but I have a Magnum SE with the 2.7 and have not found any issues (knock on wood) as yet.
