Default Cut off the Resonators

Ok, I whacked off the resonators in the back, and bolted on Blastin' Bob's (E-BAY) custom pipes made just for the Magnum/300C. Four inch chrome tips. Cost $129 plus shipping (he shipped to my APO, good job Bob). Took less than an hour to flex off the resonators and bolt these on. No drone and they are about two or three times as loud as stock at full throttle. Quiet at cruise.

Check out these sound clips at www.swartout.no-ip.com or

http://www.swartout.no-ip.com/start.wma and http://www.swartout.no-ip.com/go.wma

The pics are not mine, but from the E-Bay offer from Blastin' Bob. The mic was taped to the rear bumper.

I cut mine off and ended up with the same results. Like you I like it when cruising..very quiet so I don't have to turn the music up load and can have a low volume conversation with passengers.

Flat Eric,

How is the Performance? Did you lose / gain any low end / top end? I like the way my car sounds, especially between two close block walls like the freeway repair dividers... But honestly, I think it was a bit quicker off the line with the stock set up with a bit more back pressure. And with 45 to 65 MPH speed limits here, I can't even get out of second gear... LOL! Reminds me of that old "Nash Rambler" song. "Hey buddy! How do I get this thing out of 2nd Gear?" Anyways, let me know of the Performance, as sound is secondary to me...

Flat Eric,
Which kit did you get? 5DB, 7DB, 9DB, or the 11DB? I am assuming you got the 5DB based on price. How was the install? What did it take to cut the stock pipes. Looks and sounds cool.

I ordered the 5 db version as Bob mailed me and said all versions may have some "drone" except these. They are loud enough. Used a flex one of my friends has to cut the pipes, 30 seconds each side on a lift. Initially cut them an inch or so too long as we were afraid to be too short, so had to cut twice.

I did not notice any performance hit at all. Still does effortless passing, only now the passee gets more enjoyment out of being passed. I just got my FlashPaq yesterday so I'm playing with that Saturday.

I cut mine off the first month. Local shop did mine, bent pipes, installed my orig tips. Parts and labor $50. I like the sound too. Not too loud, but a nice idle and low speed rumble. Wonder how the Challenger will sound ?
