Default Blue Smoke

Ok...About 7 months ago around 6k miles i was at my folks house for a visit, it was time to head home and cranked it up, it was in the morning, My dad informed me of blue smoke, I assumed he was imagining it and blew it off. Well yesterday I cranked it and moved it out of the garage to do some cleaning, about 3 hours later i cranked it to move it back in and poof, a flume of blue smoke came out. Has anyone had this happen? I know from a little gearhead experience this is not a good thing. car has tight at 16k miles on her.

that's odd. i would take it to the dealer. you will need valve guide seals and whatever caused them to fail so early. did you ever severely over heat the motor? that could cause the seals to fail. i hope you get her fixed.

Yeah, I just posted this just to see if anyone else has had this happen. It has never been overheated, I drive her a little hard but not as hard as the 92 GT Mustang I had or the 88 GT Mustang I had. This does not happen all the time as far as the blue smoke which was odd to me also. And she is going to visit the dealer soon, It worries me.

Well I took it to the dealer, explained the phenomena, and he basically said it was impossible. Well I got a little unpleasant with him because Im not the ordinary sap that knows nothing about mechanics, and I did not appreciate being treated as such. Anyway he went on to explain that no other such oddities has occured with the 5.7 Hemi. He also went on to say that it was almost impossible for oil to seep passed the valve guides with todays technology. Well bottom line is I damanded it be documented, so he had it taken to the service bays which I was allowed to go, to monitor the diagnostic test they performed. No codes came up and the engine was nearly perfect. What was cool about the whole thing was the tech himself. He wanted to know exactly what had been happening and I explained and he sermised that it sounded like a software issue. He told me just to keep driving it as I have and wait to see if anything happens through Dodge for recalls. But it did get documented, and the tech was professional about it.
