Default Option Package Questions

I'm ready to order, I'm thinking of configuring a Blue R/T as follows...

REC AM/FM Stereo w/Integrated Display
AHN Convenience Group 2
AFC Electronics Convenience Group
ADB Protection Group
RSP Uconnect Hands-free Communication
AHC Trailer Tow Group
RSA Sirius Satellite Radio

A couple questions. Which options can be added later? For example the cargo package, can most of that stuff minus the roof rack be picked up from the parts department? Is the roof rack strong enough to actually carry something, like a cargo carrier? Or is it like my Durango was, where the bars have to be replaced to carry more than a 2x4.

What is the word on the protection group, are side impact airbags going to clean out kids in the back seat, I'm going to have them three across in car seats. How about those run flat tires, do they give up something in trade for the run flat feature?

I'm sold that the stability and traction control will make up for AWD, so I'm not going to bother with AWD

Does the Sirius Radio add just the radio feature, or does it upgrade the whole stereo system?

Anybody know what the "Platnium Group" will be, I've seen rumors over on the SRTForums that there is a late availablilty package with this name.

Those of you that have your cars, are there must have options you wish you had ordered?

You're better off just ordering the stuff you want from the factory. It will most likely cost you less. Some people have said that Uconnect loses some features when dealer-installed.

Well, I found a blue RT in stock at a dealer that was close enough, it had things in it I'd rather not pay for, but at least I don't have to wait, it appears we would have been pushing late October for an order. The car has the convenience groups, sunroof, nav, sirius and the protection group. Time will tell if I'll be sorry I don't have the tow package. I picked the car up for invoice and drove it the 200 miles back home last night.

So far, a very nice car, I like the way the power builds, it is smooth, very quiet, and feels solid. I think they should probably fire the person that invented that cruise control stick thing.

Dodge did a great job building a enthusiasts car that is 100% practical. Especially if you consider we were cross shopping mini-vans.

What was your sticker price you paid? Did you go through Chrysler Financial and get the $1000 bonus cash?

I paid dealer invoice (same as comes up on a site like edmunds.com) then went through Chrysler for the 1k cash back. That got me in the 31.9k range for a car with a 35.something K sticker.
