Hemi tick?
Many have reported this and it's said to be typical with the Hemi. I've read that DCX said the tapping was the exhaust valve stems having too much slop. I didn't have a tick until I changed out the valve springs and cam, now mine ticks. Personally I haven't worried about it.
<edit> If it's not a tick like a sewing machine then it's probably is an issue you should look into. It could be a broken valve spring or something else in the valve train. Sorry, can’t be more specific w/o more information. Can you post up an audio file of the sound your hearing?

I believe the tick it’s due to loose tolerances in the engine specs.
Not all have it and I didn’t have it on mine until I worked on the valve train with around 17000 miles on the car. I really notice it when driving up against a road barrier, between traffic lanes, in stop-n-go traffic.

Just had my 06 R/T in for 16K service. I questioned the tick. They claim it is normal with the Hemi engine. I hear mine the most from inside the car with the air on. I have pulled up to the teller window and the drive through windows and have not hear it outside the car as of yet.
