Default Transmission slipping in the cold

I have an 06 R/T and this morning 34 Degrees out I got into my car started it up , put it in reverse and the car didn't go anywhere. Revved the engine to about 3,000RPM and the car started to SLOWLY roll so I backed off put it in drive and the same result high rev no go. After about 2 min of slowly revving and changing gears car kicked into reverse and drive and was fine. Wondering if anybody else has had this problem and if so what could it be.

Same problem I had last year. If you re-start the car the it will go into gear right away. But this car always slips a little when cold out but when it goes over 3k rpm best to re-start

My tranny on my Hemi acts a little weird when its very cold out too. I mostly note a slow shift from 1-2-3 first few times. I know if you bump it into neutral when your driving, it takes up to 10 seconds before it catches again when you put it back in drive. Ive had mine for about 3 years now, but havent had any trans service needed.
