my audio system is in the works
While I anxiously await a dash kit and wiring harness for the magnum here is the first phase of my audio system upgrade along with a price list.
Speaker Changes
factory 6x9 replaced with Infinity Kappa Series Model 693 - Ebay $140 a pair shipped
(picked for sound quality and efficiency)
Infinity Reference 5760 Amplifier - Crutchfield $440 Shipped
(picked for high level inputs, low distortion, built in sub woofer crossover and input switch from high level inputs....meaning works with any factory stereo and allows for excellent control over subwoofers)
Infinity Kappa Perfect 10 inch subwoofer 100.3 Dual Voice Coil - Ebay $116 Shipped
(picked for dual voice coil and low airspace requirements)
Custom Fiberglass enclosure - You may have to search a little to find someone near you that can make you a custom enclosure. I am having one molded into the storage area just behind the wheel well on the pasengers side. This space will allow for approx. 1 cubic foot of airspace for the subwoofer. This will not take away from any space in the cargo area of the vehicle. The best price I could get on this enclosure was $400. You can expect to pay up to $800 for a fiberglass enclosure painted to match your car.
Misc Wiring $140 - Capacitor, 4 ga wire & gold battery connector
Grand Total = $1376
I have done a similiar package in 3 other vehicles. This gives nice crisp highs, tight mid range, and solid...deep bass. Some people say one subwoofer doesn't create enough bass, but the right enclosure and the right materials make all the difference.

Brian,
Sounds like you are into stereos, hope you enjoy your work.
I seldom ever turn on my radio at all, I enjoy the peace and quiet.
Plus I can listen to my Flowmasters better.
Car came with the 6 CD player, which I will never use.
