Just putting a bit of news out, SCT is planiing a release in the first quarter of a programmer for th DC LX platform. The release date is not firm, but it should be a respectable product.

My experience is limited to one I bought recently from Dennis Reinhart who loaded it with a custom tune for my '04 Marauder, I installed it this past Monday, and it has made a significant difference in faster shifts, and more speed. If I acn keep my foot out of the go pedal, I will better be able to evaluate any mileage improvement.

The unit allows laptop connection from an icluded USB cable to use downloadable datalogging software. The SCT programmers also allow storage of three or four custom tunes depending on the model.

Prices are comparable to others on the market with less capability.

is this software(CD & a cable) for programming via a laptop or just a handheld piece like superchips?

 

The progammers have traditionally been handhelds, much like the Superchips, and others. No reason to expect the new one for DC hemis to deviate from that. My Marauder unit is such, and it is an added convenience that you can connect it to a laptop and through free software from the SCT website, you can realtime data log your cars various parameters. I have the software, but have not had time to actually use it, and multiple parameters are available to select from.

Like what you have done to your Magnum BTW. Have only doe and Airaid CAI, TBS, and Flowmaster catback exhaust to my Midnight Pearl Blue "06 5.7. However there are plans for Eibach anti-sway bars, and BFG 255x50x18 KDWS, and perhaps a High Horse TCM upgrade, and of course a programmer.
