Problematic ESP light possible solution for some
There are a bunch of post regardingESP system inidcator light problems but many indicated it was part of several electrical problems. Mine is a little different, its just the ESP light that comes on sporadically and will not go off until you power cycle the car. This happens at super low to no speed. Specifically, it will pop on in the drive thruline at In and Out Burger almost on command. FYI - In and Out rules.....
Since my car has only 18K I took it to the dealer who promptly told me as suspected they could not reproduce the problem and there were no codes. Something I already know because a friend hasa scanner and we already looked soit ain't good enough. It actually happens we ar not tripping here...
So I pressed and got them to look again whichI don't think they actually did (but I digress this isn't necessarily a dealer warrantyrant post.)We called back again much later in the daysince my dealer is less then stellar andnever actually calls us until yet another day has gone by and all the mecahnics have left (sorry it slipped out, I just can't help myself I am livid), and this time they promptly tell my wife itsthe way she was driving the thing. She patiently explained again this happens stopped at lights on occasion and especially at drive thru's. In the end she is chewing this guy up on the phone and is super pissed but they go at it a third time and finally get the ESP indicator to light up.
I guess they scanned for codes again at this point and alas they find a faulty anti lock break sensor. They never did say if its one of the two in theback or the one for thefront but you know what happens next, everybody does. The part needs to be ordered and won't be here for likely a week.
